List of Disability Rights Organizations Information
This is a list of notable disability rights organizations. Although the disability rights movement itself began in the 1960s, advocacy for the rights of people with disabilities did exist before that, and so the list of notable organizations has been expanded to reflect that.
- American Disabled for Attendant Programs Today (ADAPT) (1978) – was organized by the Atlantis Community and primarily serves the physically disabled and focuses on advocating for rights and services.

It is run by Autistic people, and was founded by Autistic self-advocates Ari Ne'eman and Scott Robertson.

The group concerns itself with lobbying for new legislation that would provide for and defend the civil rights of people with disabilities and with the enforcement of current legislation.
