Mental Illness Awareness Week Information
Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) is a national observance that was designated by the United States Congress and U.S. President in response to the increasing incidence of mental illness.[1] It takes place during the first week in October.[2] This week coincides with October 10th – World Mental Health Day.[3] In addition to the U.S., Mental Illness Awareness Week is celebrated in Canada[4] and Israel [5]
