Does baking soda toothpaste whiten as well as pure baking soda on a toothbrush?
Q. I have baking soda toothpaste, and I know that baking soda whitens teeth like crazy and shouldn't be used frequently, but does baking soda toothpaste whiten as dramatically as brushing with pure baking soda?
Asked by Anonomous - Tue May 24 18:15:04 2011 - Dental - 1 Answers - Comments
A. yes, because it strips the enamel layer off...overuse will result in hypersensitive teeth.

What are some crazy songs that you like?
Q. I want MENTAL songs, any that you know of. One's where it's just pure head-banging awesomeness. it doesn't have to be metal...sigh I love Baptism by Crystal Castles :D

A. Okay, i know you said it doesnt have to be metal, but it sounds like what youre looking for is Technical Death Metal. That genre is full of crazy, ridiculous "patterns". Actually, the songs of that genre kinda LACK pattern. Its super complex, has really odd time signatures, frequent time signature changes, etc. And if you dont want metal, then the equivalent for non-metal would be math rock or mathcore. I dont listen to techdeath, so idk many songs, but here is one:

A. My dear Joao... Well...these days there are many "crazy" folks in this world, honey...But I think it's real kind of you to be concerned about your friend...Very recommendable !!! I have a suggestion on a real good book, that even may help his personality disorder... The author's name is : Wayne Dyer and the title of his book is : "Pulling your own strings" -or- another real good one is called: "Gifts from Eykis"...Both are pretty good and even more so quite helpful with his psychological problems. It's worth investing into those books ! Wish you and him all the best for the future ! Greetings from Germany with all my love & care...your friend...Annette***

these new designer breeds are driving me crazy! they are mixing two pure breds together to get a certain look?
Q. or whatever...to jack up the price. But even though it is annoying me, I have always been told you have less chance of health problems if you get a mixed breed. So technically arent these dogs the best of both worlds... People buy pure breeds so they know how the pup will look as an adult. WIth designer dogs you tend to pretty much know what to expect vs. a heinz 57. And you eliminate the predisposition to certain health problems of the purebred dog. Is a mixed breed healthier than a purebred? what are thepros and cons of getting a designer dog? besides the hiked up price?and the pros and cons of pure bred?

What's in natural orange products that makes my son go crazy?
Q. He's always been a handful but I have noticed that if he drinks pure orange juice or eats any citrus fruit that he goes right off the scale! He is actually better with a glass of coke!!(though I tend to keep it to milk or water) When I picked him up from school a few weeks ago he was red faced and gibbering! They had tangerines for the breaktime snack,he had collected all the ones from kids that don't like them and eaten 9! I am puzzled as to how fruit can do this to him, isn't it supposed to be healthy, and why only oranges?

A. Well I've never heared of this before but would agree that there is a lot of natural sugar there (my boys' football teams used to eat oranges at half-time).I did notice that when I tried them on (freshly squeezed) grapefruit juice rather than orange it seemed to go straight through them but that's another issue I suppose. I would also agree that it is worth checking for allergy - and of course making sure that he gets his vitamin C from other sources especially in the Winter. That may mean spinach for which he may not thank you! Best wishes, Joan.

Why does Hillary Clinton's voice drive me crazy?
Q. I am not trying to make a joke here. But Hillary's voice just drives me crazy. She sounds like an elementary school hall monitor or nagging teacher. I swear I would rather hear finger nails on a chalkboard. What is it about her voice that is so unappealing? And I don't want to hear that it is because she is a woman and men just don't like powerful women. That is pure and simple BS. I would listen to Mrs. Dole or Margaret Thatcher all day! And when I say crazy, I mean crazy in a BAD way!

Are all conspiracy theories pure fabrication or are some based in facts?
Q. I don't know if I believe them or not but some are plausible. With all the theories floating around can you honestly say without a shadow of doubt that all are pure fabrication. Some may actually be based in fact. What better way to render truth useless, reduce it to some conspiracy theory and therefore anyone espousing it would be considered crazy. What theory have you heard that could be plausible?

Am I crazy or was he? pure madness?
Q. ok, How do you explain this?, I met this guy and after he moved in with me, he started showing some very bizarre behavior... he started freaking out thinking every one was against him or out to get him... he started acting paranoid of the world and if I didnt agree he would feel insulted and get violent that I didnt understand. I tried to tell him that every thing was ok and there was no danger, but he got furious thinking I was making light of his fear ..he tried to convince me that I was the one crazy because there really was danger out there. he got mad at me for implying that his fears were irrational...if i didnt walk on eggshells like he did, he felt insulted .. it got to the point that I was terrified to relax or else he would fly… [cont.]

Why is everybody so crazy about Twilight?
Q. Don't get me wrong, it is a good book, but not so much I would talk all day about it and recommend it to everyone of my friends. I mean, it's pure solid fantasy, and has a somewhat unrealistic air about it. Can you explain why everyone is such a fan of it?
Asked by Cesca [breatheeme] - Mon Jun 30 19:44:33 2008 - Books & Authors - 10 Answers - Comments
A. I think it is because of Edward and how Stephenie Meyer describes both Jacob and Edward shirtless. Though, of course, I think it's because the Twilight fans haven't been exposed to actually GREAT writing. Once they read better writing and then compare it to Twilight, they will realize it isn't that good. At least, nothing to be freaking out about.

Why does a match reignite when in contact with pure oxygen?
Q. If you have never tried the experiment where you are trying to prove that plants release oxygen during the process of photosynthesis, you probably think I'm crazy. But what is the process or the reaction that causes the match that you blew out to burst into flames again after you put it in oxygen?
Asked by Nurse Critter '09 - Wed Nov 12 12:59:56 2008 - Chemistry - 1 Answers - Comments
A. You need three things for a flame; heat, fuel, and oxygen. When you blow out the match in normal air it still has heat and fuel but there isn't enough oxygen for it to reignite by itself (air is only partially oxygen). Now when you put it in pure oxygen there are no other gases diluting the required oxygen so it instantly ignites.

Why did girls in the 60s go so crazy for The Beatles specifically?
Q. Beatlemania, we all know it, the familiar images of teenage girls crying, screaming, attempting to rush the stage at the Ed Sullivan Show and generally causing havoc across the world. Of course i am more than aware of one of the primary reasons for these actions: girls will be girls (read: the birds and bees.) The Beatles were talented, good looking and just bad enough to be hot, of course girls wanted them, but the hysterical images that i recall appear to be caused by something far more interesting than just pure lust,. What, if any are the psychological reasons that girls went so crazy, specifically over The Beatles?

A. I think, of course, it was the same reason girls went crazy or Elvis Presley, Backstreet Boys, or any other boyband - they thought they were cute. However, there's also another emotion that comes to play in the older bands, and that's freedom, peace, love, and rebellion. Rock and roll bands were scoffed at by the conservatives, and whats more tempting to a teenager than rebelling, listening to good music, and doing drugs? Not much (especially in the 60's) They helped start a massive movement, that has continued to the present. Basically, that's what rock and rollers do, wreak havoc amongst the conservatives/adults, and happy riots amongst the liberals/teens.
